Admissions for 2010-11
Both degrees run as integrated, one-year, taught
courses aiming for breadth and depth of understanding. We draw students
from ages 21 to 71, from all corners of the globe, and from backgrounds
in the humanities, sciences, engineering, and the civil service. This
diversity makes us thrive. Part-time study is available, too. Typical
applicants seek: preparation for PhD research, career development and
enhancement, and personal enrichment.

Outstanding success for
London Centre in 2008 RAE
In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, top marks went to all three departments that make up the London Centre. CHOSTM
received the highest rating of all UK history departments (40% of its research was classed 4* world-leading in terms of originality, significance and rigor; another 40% was judged 3* internationally excellent. WTC and STS (reviewed together with the Departments of History and Philosophy at UCL) had 40% classified as 4*, and a further 25% was judged 3*.
These results confirm the world-leading status of the research produced by the London Centre staff. Outstanding results all around.
